Miranda Schooley

I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Appalachian State University, have held licensure as a Professional Counselor and Clinical Addictions Specialist, and I have been a Nationally Certified Counselor since 1997. My work has been in a variety of settings, including in- and outpatient facilities for treatment of addictions, homeless shelters, physician’s offices, youth programs, behavioral healthcare agencies, and in clients' homes. I am a founding member of the Blue Mountain Center and enjoy being part of this collaborative.

As much as possible, I am committed to ensuring that those who believe they would benefit from a therapeutic relationship with me are not prevented from doing so for financial reasons. Therefore, although I do not accept third party payments (insurance), I maintain a generous sliding scale policy, determined on a client by client basis.

I have many areas of personal and professional interest and thirty years of wide ranging professional experience. I enjoy working with individuals negotiating life’s transitions and those working to resolve issues related to trauma. For me using an individual’s creativity and connection with the natural world is an integral part of the healing process.
